The hype was over and the lucky people of the USA, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, Columbia, Peru, Chile and Brazil were able to pick up their pre-ordered Wii’s.

So, today, the 19th November 2008 is the Nintendo Wii’s 2nd Birthday!

Who would have thought that 2 years after launch day that the Wii would still be incredibly popular.  The worldwide sales figures as of 30th September 2008 were 34.55 million.  With Nintendo expecting to break the 50 million sales by March 2009.

Stock of Guitar Hero: World Tour - Band Bundle is released today across all platforms. Have you got your copy yet?

Not to mention that the Nintendo Wii Console is number 2 as well!! With the Nintendo DS propping up the table at number 10 it looks like Satoru Iwata of Nintendo will be having a very happy Christmas indeed!

With Christmas approaching I’m sure that the views will just continue to increase, widening the Wii’s lead on all it’s electronic rivals.

Personally, I’ve pre-ordered the Band Bundle.  This is released in a weeks time (14th November 2008) across all platforms (Wii, PS3, PS3, Xbox 360).  So why should you pre-order the Band Bundle now and wait for next week, when the game and the guitar are released today….

Here’s why:

1. The Band Bundle is exactly that - You get all the band equipment, not just the guitar.  This is the reason you want the game!  For the Band equipment - the Drums, the Microphone, the Guitar and the Solus Game itself!!!

2. If you pre-order the Complete Band Pack you will also get a Free Bass Guitar Controller.

3. If you want to play the game by yourself, with only the guitar then be my guest and buy the guitar only pack now.  If not…  and I’m thinking most people are thinking this:  Get the Band Pack to share the experience with your friends!!

4. The drums!!!!  Even if you are the person in point 3 (lonely person with no one else to play with!) you want this game to bash the drums!  So you need to get the Band Bundle

5. I rest my case really!!!

Thinking back my blog was inundated with visitors all clambering over each other to get the most sought after Christmas Present of 2007 - The Nintendo Wii.

I’d happened across a method, and was the first to blog about ordering a Wii from from Amazon.de which helped hundreds of visitors.  Until Amazon.de put a stop to it as too many Brits were ordering from them.  I blame the Ebay, Amazon Marketplace sellers who were buying them in bulk.  Then selling them for profit on the auction sites!

I’ll get back to my first point though…  Will the current state of Wii stock stay as it is with the Christmas rush starting?  I’d hope to say yes, but maybe not.

Even stock of Wii Fit and the Balance Board seems to be buoyed at the moment, albeit in bundles.  But I’ll predict that this certainly won’t last!!

It’s only available on Wii, and is not being released in the USA.  With a Wii-only game, then the gameplay must be good to be worthwhile.  Disaster doesn’t disappoint.  The use of the Remote with the Nunchuk is very, very good!  Check out the video on YouTube at the bottom of the post.

In the game you play the role of Raymond Bryce.  With kidnappings and the threat of a nuclear bomb at stake the stage is set.  Then a whole host of natural disasters are happening in the United States at the same time.  What’s a guy gotta do?  The same as usual really save the day and walk off into the sunset!!!

The time has finally come, and after testing for the past few days a Wii Fit Stock Checker is now up and running on the page at the top of the site.

Hopefully, this will enable people to find the right Wii Fit package.  Whether that be the game by itself, or in a bundle packaged with the Wii Console itself.

Keep an eye out for the top of the site for future stock checkers that are in the testing stage at the moment.

First announced at E3 on July 14th, 2008 and then shown to the world next next day at the press conference, this accessory will be a must-have for all Wii owners.

We have no official release date yet, but as soon as there is one I’ll update the blog straight away.

The President of Nintendo America - Reginald Fils-Aimé announced at E3 that a Wii Motion Plus accessory will be bundled with the follow up to Wii Sports - Wii Sports Resort.  This is due to be released in early 2009 and was used to show-off the capabilities of the Wii Motion Plus at E3, check out the footage in the YouTube video below:

Games that have been announced that are Wii Motion Plus compatible are:
- Red Steel 2
- A so-far un-named EA Sports-branded Tennis game.

I’d be really interested to see what Red Steel 2 will be like as I was extremely disappointed with the original…  If the Wii Motion Plus enables you to slice and dice the bad guys as accurately as it does in the Wii Sports Resort sword-duelling game, then Red Steel 2 could be really, really good!

What other games would everyone like to see?  A Star Wars lightsaber action game perhaps?

If you are interested in pre-ordering a copy of Wii Sports Resort - and hence getting a look/play of a Wii Motion Plus accessory, then currently Game.co.uk are your guys.  They seem to be the only retailer I’ve found that are currently taking pre-orders for stock of Wii Sports Resort.  With a RRP of £49.99 here in the UK, Game.co.uk are selling each copy for £39.99 - not bad really, when the Wii Motion Plus will probably cost something in the region of £20-30 when released as a separate entity.
