Managed to cancel it at no cost and reorder just the one, all using Google translate. Shipping date is between 29/11 and 13/12 with estimated delivery 1st to 24th December!! Fingers crossed.

Having read all the postings seemed simple to order so thought I’d give it a go and follow the extremely clear instructions above (thank you !) . But it really doesn’t seem to like Scotland - it won’t process past the address part even though they’re in stock. I’ve tried changing to GB but still not accepting it .
Anybody got any suggestions ?

I’ve only just got back from my day job and moderated your comments.
A few days ago I got an email from Amazon.de saying that I couldn’t link anyone to their website due to the increase in demand from customers in the UK.
I removed my links, widgets etc on this blog, and it seems that Amazon.de have now taken it one stop further and are now preventing people from ordering a Wii from Amazon.de… “Insert your chosen curse here and collectively swear at them!!!!”
Unfortunately, it looks like that this avenue for acquiring a Wii before Christmas has now closed.
Can anyone else shed some light on this?
Sorry guys, if I hear of, come up with, another method of getting a Wii I’ll blog about it straight away.

Gutted too feel like writing an email to an MEP surely it’s against European trade agreements, or something along those lines.
Managed to put an order for a Wii in with Amazon.de before the ordering curtain came down….! Have had the email stating that its been disptached has anyone any ideas to who delivers these in the UK?? And if indeed theres any way of tracking the parcel with the couriers??? Just hoping it arrives and doesnt get sent back to the germans!!

Having lost all hope after trying dozens of times yesterday I tried immediately I saw your posting and think I managed to order one.
I say I think because I used 1 click ordering and it came up at the end saying - 1 click ordering cancelled and next line thank you we have recieved your order and then listed the Wii. So i hope that means I’ve got it !!

Wii from Amazon Germany due this week - Sorted !!!. But would like to ask if anyone has ordered Wii Play with remote from Amazon.de, I can’t get it from UK. One shop told me it has been out of stock longer than the Wii. Can I assume that the game will be as UK bought games and will be in English.

Thanks for making this possible - I wouldn’t have taken the plunge to order from Germany without your clear instructions. Thanks to all who have posted advice about adapters also because I would’ve just used a shaver adapter. DHL delivered and it was a daytime delivery if that is a concern as a few people have asked about this. My order summary stated I would receive it between 13th and 26th November - it arrived on 12th. Now to buy some games - anyone got any recommendations?

hi think i have managed to order a wii through amazon de it says it will be dispatched on 13/11/07 just wondering how long it will take and when i go onto tracking my order it says somthing about checking for cookies ..any ideas anyone !
Edith, I had the same problem. whilst on internet explorer (presuming this is how you access the internet) click on ‘tools’ on your menu bar then select ‘Internet Options’ then click the ‘Privace’ Tab, then click sites in the address box type “http://www.amazon.de then click ‘allow’ and finally ‘ok’ then retry accessing your account. Its inly so that amazon can create a page designed specifically for you (as far as i know), this worked for me. I hope you get your Wii!
tried to order more than 1 wii got conformation for 1not sure about the other 2 got conformation but not on delivery i has been dispatched live in scotland

Yes I ordered Wii Play bundled with a console on the 8th. I’m hoping that’s why my shipping date seems to be so much slower than everyone else’s though, as my estimated delivery is basically any time in December. There are people here who ordered just a console on its own after me, but have been given a delivery date much earlier than mine. Wii Play appears to be in stock and it says it will be shipped more or less straight away.
I’m not sure whether I should be concerned or not.

AMAZING, thank you soo much, I had tried Woolies, Argos, Currys, Dixons and was about to resort to EBAY!!! ordered my Wii last Tuesday, It arrived by DHL on monday evening !!!. To all those who doubt this is genuine… just follow the instructions above. A Wii at less than ARGOS price !! unbelievable

Was delighted when I read through these posts, but I’ve just tried to order one using a variety of addresses and have encountered the problem that a few of you had - ie won’t deliver to UK? Don’t suppose any of you have any ideas?

Followed your instructions and bought my Wii from Amazon.de on 7th November and it arrived less than 48 hours later on 9th!!!!! Also ordered a copy of Wii Play (plus remote) from Virgin Megastores online for £27 on the same day but it still hasn’t been dispatched. Only problem I had was finding an Overseas to UK adapter - all my local B&Q’s had sold out - so the word must be spreading. Found one in the end but suggest changing fuse to 3 amp in line with the UK plug rating.

Thank-you very much for a great saving and also the fact that a littlie one will not be disappointed on christmas day. Ordered the item last Tuesday evening and received to my home address on the following Monday so it was less than 4 working days. Well done and thanks again.

So much for free trade accross the European Union - didn’t some of the Car Manufacturers get finded for this type of behaviour? Surely it’s restriction of trade
I did this last week, cost me about £4 DHL from Germany.
It was ordered on the Thursday, and came the following Monday.
Took it out of the box, UK handbook, it asks you what language you want, and them we played - My little girl will be so happy.
Someone said I should have bought loads and sold them for £400 each, but I am not like that, if it helps you please mail me I am genuine davepunter@tiscali.co.uk and I know the stress you are having.
Also, the only down side is it comes with a european two pin plug, however, I bought one from Maplins for £5 (ish) delivered, which just slips ontop and then it screws down (no one will ever know).
I know what you are thinking… but this is Amazon? It even comes in an Amazon FR / Amazon DE / Amazon UK box.
I cannot beleive that Amazon are charging so much in the UK, also, on Ebay they are in there, and they are german anyway??

Just tried all the above for the last 3 hours and got nowhere!!! Followed the link on the post from ‘dhibell’ above and have managed to get one for £177!!!!, will let you know when it arrives.

Thanks to a different tip I ordered mine on Monday and it arrived from .de yesterday (15th Nov). Considering even Play.com are charging over £300 for the basic pack now I am glad I did!

Sorry to ask but I’m getting a little worried. Ordered my Wii on Amazon.de on the 6th November and was originally told it would arrive between the 20th-24th November (which although is much longer than some people is still well before Christmas so not a problem). Amazon.de then sent an e-mail to say the item was dispatched and would arrive early on the 13th November (really a bonus). However, its now the 16th and although the money has now been taken by amazon I have no Wii here 3 days after it should have been. I’ve checked the amazon.de website but with no luck so far (still says it should be here on the 13th). Any help would be great.
I’m thinking of ordered the Wii Play with free remote off amazon.de.

L - Ring up your local post offices, see if they have had a package as it may of been delivered but taken to one of those.
If no luck, get someone who can speak German to ring up amazon, or ring up DHL and give them your package number

just tried and got a different screen. went on www.freetranslation.com to translate it and it said” that unable to deliver to the address given as the uk was on their ” restricted country list” so my quest goes on
Anyone know if wii’s from France can be used in the UK, hubby needs to buy wii’s for a raffle prize and has chance of couple from France but I thought the French ones don’t use the PAL system. Can anyone help before these get sold one.
PS told my hubby to order from amazon.de when I ordered one for my nephew, it came within a week but he didn’t listen did he !!!!!

DHL tried to deliver to my home yesterday but no-one was home. I went to their local depot and picked it up tonight. Hope yours turns up soon too Diane. Have you had an email to say it’s left Germany yet? I got one on the 17th.
