Tony Hawk: Ride for Wii preview
Perhaps the game that I am most excited about in the build up to Christmas 2009 is Tony Hawk: Ride.
With a recommended retail price (RRP) of £99.99, Tony Hawk: Ride doesn’t come cheap. But what it does come with is a totally radical new skateboard controller that comes bundled with the game.
The game is available for pre-order in the UK at the moment. Currently Everythingplay.com are currently the cheapest retailer at £89.85 with FREE delivery. Amazon.co.uk have a great price at £94.66, whilst Game.co.uk are touting the preorder at the RRP of £99.99.
Developed specifically for the Nintendo Wii by Buzz Monkey Software, the new evolution to the highly acclaimed Tony Hawk series is released here in the UK on the 20th November 2009. Just in time for the Christmas rush so might say!!
Watch the trailer from the E3 when it was announced in July below:
The new skateboard controller is used to simulate the riding and grinding of an actual skateboard in the game. The peripheral which is shaped just like a real skateboard, is equipped with infrared sensors to detect motion and display it on-screen. This is quite an advancement on any previous skateboard game. When Tony Hawk himself, first came out at the E3 conference and announced that the technology has finally caught up! I held my breath in anticipation. Tony has always wanted a true skateboard peripheral that does exactly what you want by actually physically doing the moves yourself. These motions include turning, leaning, and hopping and other actions that will all reflect in the game as realistically as possible.

I agree, this game looks awesome.
I just hope that the new wireless skateboard controller lives up to my expectations.
