Wii Fit Plus gets the thumbs up from NHS and will use the Change4Life logo
Nintendo have been given the thumbs up from the NHS today. Lots of major websites and newspapers are reporting that the NHS is “endorsing” the use of Wii Fit Plus. I’m giving away a copy of this game on this site for launch day, if you haven’t entered yet, you’ve got less than 2 days to do so!! Enter the competition here.
Wii Fit Plus is due for release here in the UK on Friday this week - 30th October 2009. The game itself is set to be sold for £19.99, if bundled with the Wii Balance Board then it’ll set you back £89.99. However, if you check out the comparison table I’ve set up at the bottom of the page you’ll find it cheaper from Amazon.co.uk and many other retailers.
The Telegraph, Nursing Times and the Guardian to name a few have been reporting this story. It really is big news, for a national health service to be endorsing a video game. No one could have ever imagined that even 5 years ago. The NHS has been bashing video game manufacturers such as Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft for years. There has always been the accusations of increasing childhood obesity from kids sitting on their ar$e$ all day playing games. Now though, they are praising Nintendo for the fitness video gaming revolution that they have started.
The NHS is also going one step further, as the press guys are reporting that each copy of Wii Fit Plus will have the NHS’s Change4Life logo. This will also feature on all the commercial adverts aswell. Giant strides I’d say
Wii Fit Plus is the pinnacle of these exercise themed video games. If you haven’t entered my competition, then get your preorder in now.
